I don’t know what the book says, but I have some physical limitations back and hip and I did it on jack stands in about six hours.

I just looked on my alldatadiy.com account and they don't list the labor hours for the differential, but I could find labor hours for the automatic transaxle (6.8 hrs). The differential shouldn't be much more or less tha the transmission to be honest.
I just pulled my auto trans/diff for the second time. 98 base with the ABS in the back. It took me 4 hours and 45 minutes by myself to get it out.
I have everything back in except the subframe now, so probably about 5 hours to reinstall. By myself, jackstands and floor jacks.
