Default c5 torque question

hi the 2 bolts 1 behind the oil filter, and the other directly across in the picture both 10mm.
what are these suppose to be torqued to 18lbs? in the second pic I have a drip on the passenger side it starts right above the
pan gasket, there is a 10mm bolt that looks like it goes into the block behind the back of the starter, is it possible to leak from
that bolt? PLEASE NOTE ----this is the single pan-batwing pan 1 piece
thanks in advance.

Not knowing the nomenclature of the bolts in question, here is what I have: Oil pan baffle bolts 106 in lbs, , oil pan cover bolt right and left 106 in lb, oil pan cover bolts 106 in lb, oil pan M8 bolts (pan to engine block) 18 ft lbs, pan M6 bolts (pan to rear cover) 106 in lbs. Hope that helps.

the 2 bolts 10mm that strip easily are 18ft lbs correct? I am referring to the 2 bolts that go straight up from the bottom of the pan
there are 2 that come in from the back that are really big those are 106 in lbs correct.

Can't help you there. I don't have a service manual so I don't know which bolt is which. Logic would seem to dictate that the bigger bolts have a higher torque but that may not be the case. I will see what I can find out.

Found this. Hope it helps. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ng-torque.html

Default Striped again!!!

I have been trying successfully trying to replace my oil pan gasket but i seem to have stripped the two long bolts that up into the block. I attempted to repair the two bolt by drill/tap with 1/4 bit and a 6mm x 1.0 helicoil. However oil seem started coming out the rear section of the oil pan the bolt hole and the area of the torque tube. Went and bought arp pan bolts. However when I remove those two Bolts the ending threads of those both seem to have been stripped as if I didn't tap the repair deep enough. So I'm wondering if I should try to repair again out by drilling out the Helicoil with the quarter-inch drill bit and read tab further down or towards the block to get a good bite it seemed like bolt stripped off trying to torque to 9ft lbs I know it's not that much but it seems as if it's stripping out trying to do such I know the official torque is 106 inch-pounds but I think that translate to 9 foot pounds if there is a oversized Helicoil that would repair this could someone to steer me in that direction.

You'll have a rough time trying to drill out a helicoil insert!! Best way is to get under the wire using a small jewelers type screwdriver, then grab the wire with needle nose pliers, and pull. It will usually unwind out. However, at this point you may be wise to take it to a pro for repair. I'd also suggest buying the OEM Service manuals. Best of luck to you......
