I'm replacing the power steering with an electric unit (Vauxhall Astra H/TRW unit), and there's a nice location for it behind the front left fender.
The unit needs to be fixed in place. I'm considering bolting it to the frame rail. What is the material thickness of the frame rails? If it's too shallow, I'll use thread inserts rather than threading a hole. Not my car, used for reference
I'm sorry I'm no real help with your actual question, but am super curious about what it is you're doing and why. An electric power steering conversion?

I'm using the car on track days, and with the high RPMs the stock pump boiled and or cavitated the fluid. The steering rack and even the return lines started to leak. The electric unit will run cooler, and probably at lower pressure, which I hope will save the steering rack. Additional bonus is some released horses and a cleaner engine bay.
I will use riv nuts to mount the electric pump to the frame, as I've found out the wall is only .109" thick

just by looking at mine I would say it's about 1/8" thick... I had a methanol pump mounted in the same spot you are wanting to put your pump and it was mounted with self tapping screws, it never came loose but rivet nuts would be even better
