I have a LS1 bored ,030 over and I added Nitrous to it. I went three heat ranges colder than the stock plugs. Now it's running rough and seems to be flooding out. What plugs should I be using? I haven't used the nitrous. I have the Black box from MSD. The engine came out of a 99 vett. It's now in custom 59 vett. Thanks Dean
It's set on the LS setting.. It has different settings.on the out side of the box but I'm just on the stock tune that's already programed in the box from the factory, I'm using the NGK BR7ES plugs. Seems to be flooding out. It's has a new 650 Holey carb on it that ran fine with the older MSD box with number two chip plugged in the old box.
BR7ES is the plug that I used on my LT1 nitrous car. I had a tuner adjust for them in the tune. I don't know if that's actually necessary or not, but it is a colder plug.
I found out what was causing the car to flood out. When I installed the fuel line for the NOS fuel some crap got into the carb and caused the float to stick open a little. When I started it up and looked into the carb throat I could see a lot fuel dumping into the engine once in awhile. Not at all the time. Just enough to start making the engine to have fits. Now it runs normal. Thank God. I still need to figure out how to program this new Black box to retard the timing when I activate the NOS. My computer skills really suck. so wish me luck. Looks like I'll have a while before any car shows so I'll have lots of time getting it ready. I know I'll be using the purge a lot more than hitting it on the road. But I'll all ways have it when a New vette pulls aside me and thinks he's going to blow me off the road. Not going to happen. LS1 bored .030 over with head work and 650 holley making a lot of power. Now with 300 shot will really wake these guys up on the street. Been drag racing for over 50 years. I know all the tricks....Stay safe. God Bless. Dean
