Hey guys I have a 2000 C5 6sp. Car starts and stalls within seconds. PCM code is P1626 and BCM is not communicating. Cleaned all grounds, ignition switch, and checked all fuses. Can anyone please help me. Thanks
Joe, welcome to the Corvette Forum !!...are you using a scan tool or using the DIC to read codes ??...so you’re getting a “no comm” with BCM ??...any other codes present ??...if you are getting a “no comm” from any module the first step is to check power and grounds at that module...did you check fuses 9, 23, and 25 ??...the ground should be a black/white wire at connector C1 pin A9....does the security light go out during start ??
The security lights goes out once it starts. I used a hand held scanner as well as the diagnostic cluster. My window or door locks are not working. No communication with BCM, left and right door door module, SDM or HVAC
You more than likely have an issue with the serial data network...it’s one wire that allows communication between all the modules...if a module loses a power or ground that power or ground may backfeed onto that data wire and cause your condition...many have experienced issues with the left drivers door module since the drivers side is opened more than the passenger side... open the left door and shake the rubber boot...there is a connector under there that may have a bad connection or is corroded...if that doesn’t work access the 2 “Star Connectors to the left of the BCM as in the video...pull the “comb” off the connector with the smaller number of wires...now see if the car starts !!...you can start there !!...I use my scope and CAN test box that tells me instantly if there is an issue on the data bus.
Another thing to mention....turn the key ON and with your voltmeter see if you have either 12 volts or ground on pin 2 of the DLC (where your scan tool connects to)...if you do that’s a problem !!...a good data line is a 0-7 volt square wave but with a voltmeter you only see less than 1 volt (.2-.3 or .4) and you’ll see it dance around !!
So I took the PCM , TAC module, and BCM out to check for moisture. The were all sealed tight and dry. When I turn the ignition switch to on, I hear a static sound coming from the fuse panel in floor board and my interior lights are flickering
