I plan on trying my hand at touch up and some minor painting on my 1999 Black FRC. Mostly stone chips. I went to Automotivetouchup.com and lucky me there are two Blacks listed: Color Code 41 or Color Code 41A. My car was damaged before I bought the door as the driver's door had to be replaced so I don't have the white label listing the options on my driver's door. Otherwise the car has been great.
Where can I find the Color code for my car in place of having the options label on the driver's door? If not on the car other sources such as the Corvette Museum possibly or Chevrolet? Any help would be appreciated. Got to fund something to do during this stay-at-home period. Might as well be useful.
The factory GM black paint code is "WA8555". A few other brands paint codes for GM black paint:
PPG 9700
DuPont F02H
RM 13572
Any good auto paint supply stores should be able to help you out with paint codes. They be able to do some color matching with spray card or some other sample sprayouts. There is also a paint and body section on the Forum. You may want to post your question over there.
