So.. Last night, about 55 miles from home, my clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed. Got out, saw fluid leaking out front my by my firewall. I was fortunately able to get it started again and get to 4th gear, where i had to time lights to not stop!
I see ALOT of controversy over master cylinders. I drive my car, not race. I do not need 'high performance'. Ive read that installing a tick, when cruise is set, can be disengaged by hitting a bump due to no assist spring. I've balso read about the 'throw' range.
Who has experience with these either way? Please chime in!

Get stock MC why mess around. I dont know why people go with Tick. I had tick mc because people was installing them. Mine started leaking so I wasn't going to dish out that money again so I went back to stock. Mine u I'm over a 1k hp best thing I did went back to easy pedal and back to stock feel. JMO. With no problems.
Stock is fine until it isn't. Seems fine for you, so go for it. Mine wasn't fine so I replaced master and slave with new stock and a remote bleeder and my shifting issues persisted. Changed clutch and still had issues. Put a Tick master in, problem solved. Should have just done that in the first place.
I've had zero issues with my Tick master. The actual master is made by Tilton and is a solid unit, Tick just adapts it to the C5.
- If the cruise is disengaging, then either the pedal rod isn't adjusted (causing too much free play in the master) and/or the switch isn't adjusted.
- The "assist" spring is on the clutch pedal, not the master (though the master does have an internal return spring). I removed my pedal assist spring years ago.
The Tick master does have more volume so it will move the slave further for equivalent pedal stroke, which is the whole point as it helps with the "pedal on the floor" issue.
But, there's also nothing necessarily wrong with the stock unit either. Plenty of cars on the road with them and it's certainly cheaper. So if you just "drive" your car, then you can probably get away with a stock master (and then sell the vehicle to someone that will actually put it to use ... jk)
