I own a 2001 Z06 , I have no problems yanking out the stock motor for something a little more beefy , so my question I guess is will any 350 fit with out major difficulty ? Will my LS6 heads fit , stock fuel injection manifold , and as far as the accessories like the altenator bracket and so on ... The problem is im finding that a stroker kit for the LS6 with labor costs much more than a complete crate motor ( short block) already pushing 575 horse that I can work on a little at a time wile it's not in the car , and then put it in "if it fits" at a later time ..
The gen III engines are compeletely different internally and also different externally. It is my understanding that the Gen I and Gen II smallblocks are longer and do not fit in the new vette (from an article about the 97 detailing how the LT4 did not fit in the 97 vette chassis). Your heads and manifold will not fit on earlier 350's. Look for the posts here using the iron block 6.0 to build up some massive stroker packages.
CPT ZO6, put down the crack pipe and step away from the car....To do what you claim you did, is nothing short of incredulous. the phrase 3/4 race cam went out in the 50s. it would have taken the complete redesign of the drive-train, woould have added extra weight to the car , thrown off the 50/50 balance and could not come near to producing the hp of an Ls6... :troll
