TPMS and EBTCM
Visiting a very old topic here I know. I've researched and researched but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. First off I have a 2000 convertible automatic. I pulled my codes and have the dreaded C1255 but had historical codes of C1283 and C1284.
The 1283/1284 both cleared and did not come back the C1255 will not clear. Couple questions I have...
1.) I have aftermarket wheels withOUT TPMS installed. Could this have anything to do with codes?
2.) I'm guessing NO but has anyone found a fix or someone who will fix EBTCM with code C1255 on 97-00? Other than converting to 01-04.

Here is a reprint of the problem from several years ago:
DTC C1255 is an internal fault in the EBTCM.
Cleaning grounds is always good if they are dirty but, in this instance, cleaning grounds will likely not affect this problem.
The only possible wires and connections fix is the connection at the EBTCM.
1 Turn off the ignition.
2 Disconnect the brake module. Inspect the cable end for corrosion or physical damage. Inspect the connection on the module for corrosion or physical damage. Repair as necessary
3 Reconnect the EBTCM
4 Clear codes
5Road test.
If the code resets, replace the EBTCM and, based on what "dadaroo" says, at this point, that might be difficult. Your only choice might be an Internet or telephone search of Corvette use parts vendors for a module to fit a 99-00.
