Looks like it may be for the hood light, a lot of guys unplug them. Look on passenger side front of hood area and see if you see the other end of the plug wire that is connects to. Good luck finding it.

Since your so close to the coolant tank I'd say either coolant level sensor or ac pressure switch. What year is the car? I believe 2000 and up (or something like that) stopped wiring up for coolant level sensor. So if your 97 - 99 it could be that.

Your fingers are over some labels, is that the same wire? It's the passenger side and if the cable is that long I suspect hood light but hard to tell without more information.
