Default Clutch is low when COLD

I almost never park my car outside at night, but I can't get my car into my girlfriend’s driveway, so it’s got to sit outside on the street. Last couple of weeks it's been really cold (in Atlanta) Almost freezing at night. When I get into the car in the morning, the clutch disengages very close to the bottom, still works fine, but really low. After I drive the car for about 20 or 30 mins the clutch pedal disengages the clutch significantly higher up (where it normally is).

Any Idea what is going on? The car is a 1997 with 32,000 miles

I have the same experience on my 98. In cold weather there is considerable free play before clutch engagement. After the car gets warm, clutch play returns to normal. I figure there is a new slave cylinder in my future. . .

Is it the slave or the master doing this? If there is a problem with the slave doesn't it usually just leak?
