TPMS - Blank screen on DIC???

TPMS - Blank screen on DIC??? Need help!
The TPMS on my '04 is not working. All of the Gauges (except TPMS) are accurate when I scroll thru, but instead of seeing front left or right, or rear left or right (tire pressure), I get nothing. It just gives a black screen on the DIC and the next click starts the scrolling from the beginning. I know that if there is just " *** " instead of the PSI for each tire, that the system needs to be reprogrammed. But the entire DIC is blank. I'm wondering if this is a computer problem, or whether there is a fix - like disconnecting the battery cable to do a re-set. Any ideas would be helpful. BTW, I tried to do a search in past threads but did not see this exact problem. Again, the DIC is completely blank until I scroll to the next gauge. Thanks for any advice.

The previous owner had the TPMS turned off in the module (BCM I believe but may be wrong) using a Tech II. When I bought my 2004 A4 convertible the TPMS function was not showing in the DIC. The previous owner had it turned off. I purchased new Continental DWS-06 non run flat tires and new Schrader TPMS sensors. The run flat tires were 9 years old and the TPMS sensors were probably original and not working. My mechanic has a Tech II and turned the sensors on in module. After installing the new sensors and mounting and balancing the tires, the sensors registered in the DIC after the learn process using a donut magnet.

Thanks Rick. Sounds like someone turned mine off at the dealers service dept last fall. Not sure how one would do that unintentionally. I don't have a Tech 2 and have no idea how to use one. I''ll check with a few of our local corvette club members. Maybe someone has one. I'm just surprised that neither the GM mechanic nor the service advisor didn't know why it doesn't display, nor how to re-enable it. Thanks again.
