Default HELP! Seat Track Repair - having problem...

So, I decided after reading up on the forum to take up the seat track repair using the kit sold by C&S Corvettes:

Did everything as instructed in this video:

Reinstalled the track and tried a test run. Both the incline/decline on the front and back of the seat work perfectly. However, it does not slide back and forth. I can see the actuator energize but no motion. The little rod attached to the motor tries to spin, but then stops. Here is the rod I am referring to:

So, I have dismantled the rails again, but this time the rods at the end of this, are locked in place and won't come out:

Here is where it is stuck/locked (stuck on both sides)

So, I am hoping for some advice on what to do. The seats were fully operational prior to doing this. Both my flanges were broken and absolutely needed to be changed.

Couple questions:
  1. Could the fact that the rod in the last pic that will not wiggle out now be the reason for why the back and forth function is no longer working? The same rod on the other side also seems to be locked in the motor transmission.
  2. Any suggestions on how to get the same rod out?
  3. What else can I try short of buying a replacement rail?

Couple of notes:
  1. Both rods spin OPPOSITE to each other.
  2. The one on the seat belt clip-in side spins clockwise to remove the block pictured in the second last pic and the one on the door side spins counter-clockwise to remove the block on that side.
  3. I taped off the block locations on the rods prior to taking them off and counted the threads as well to make sure they threaded back on to the exact same locations.

I am completely stumped and would greatly appreciate any advice. I will be calling C&S Corvette as well in the morning to see if they have any suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any help/guidance. Much appreciated!

QUICK UPDATE:
I was able to get the rods in the last pic out on both sides and reassembled the rail and all functions are ow working. Just need to address some noise when it rolls back and forth on the rod that the mechanism slides on - hopefully a little bit of grease will resolve that issue.

Mods - feel free to delete or close this thread.

I am having the exact same problem. Incline and decline work fine but forward and back are stuck. What exactly did you do to fix this? Any help would be appreciated greatly!

What was your seat doing/not doing to cause you to purchase and install a repair kit?

I broke one of the seat track brackets. Kit came with the washers which were needed. Also replaced the bottom seat foam but that shouldn't have effected anything. My best guess is the washers are binding even though the seemed to turn smoothly before i put it back together. The distance on the threads measures exactly the same on both sides.

Take it apart again as per C & S directions.
The short unthreaded rod that goes into the motor (circled in red in the images) needs to be seated properly. He mentions it in the video.
I don't think yours is seated properly. You'll feel it when it seats.

i tried re-seating them. No go.
i decided to start from the beginning and test it after each step. Found the problem was the bolt for the threaded rod needed a shim on the side the c&s bracket. Seems to work fine now. I'll check back after it's installed and I've tested the durability of the new bracket

Update: seat almost works perfectly. I mixed up the threaded rods and now foward is backward and backward is forward.

I didn't think the seat controls would survive taking them off and putting them back on again. Decided to live with it for now.

I would advise testing the seat after each step of assembly. Might save some headache if something isn't right.

thanks for all the help
