I have sold my C4 and now I am looking at C5. I took the car for a drive yesterday but upon trying to start it the pull key code came across the DIC. The owner said that happens about once a week and he just tries a few times and it starts. He wiggled the key, took it out and turned it over, wiggled a few times and then it started. I drove it and came back to his yard and cycled it a bunch and it fired up every time.
He tells me it has never let him down and it always starts after a few tries. The system cycles and everything seems normal but once in the start position it has nothing. Is this a LMC5 fix or should I be worried about it. He has a new Red Top in it as well.
Battery can have an effect also. The LMC5 also has a brown wire mod for certain years if I remember correctly. It may just need that done and it should fix the issue. I would not have the recall done.
