Default open circuit C1233

Had code for Wheel sensor on rigt front of my 2004 Z06. Found a new sensor harness and installed- yet My dash still shows ABS light/traction control service light and going through diagnostics shows C1233 code which I believe means an open circuit or short How do I check for this and fix? Not anywhere up to speed on this electronic stuff Need help- hate having lights on BTW I've tried to delete codes but this one keeps coming back Has a H and a C behind it HELP !

Yes, 1233 means wheel speed sensor “open or shorted“...you WILL have to at least troubleshoot this with a DVOM so if your not up to speed with this electrical stuff there is not much we can do to help...was the short sensor harness replaced ??...one would measure the resistance across the sensor and also you can spin the wheel and see if the sensor puts out an AC voltage...then you would remove the harness connector closet to the sensor and also at the EBCM...you would then check for an open or short on both of the 2 sensor wires...OR take it to a shop !!

could it be bad r/f wheel speed sensor. I don't recall what the code I got but I replaced the bearing assembly speed sensor is part of the bearing, this fixed mine. this was over a year ago.

I'll bring to a shop but wondering after adding a new harness what possible other parts might need replaced? thanks for your help

What do you mean the sensor harness was replaced this morning? Do you mean you replaced the wheel bearing or did you replace the car harness the wheel speed sensor plugs into? Did you do any of the diagnostics that C5 Diag told you do? Reading voltages and resistance with a $60 Volt/Ohmmeter isn't any fancy electronic thing.

Bill I replaced the wheel sensor harness this morning the piece that plugs into hub and runs up to the frame. It did not fix the problem I. am doing the diagnostics tomorrow Open circuit/short location hopefully found then. I can do most other work( having had 20 Corvettes) but stay away from any electrical/electronic

If you have had 20 Corvettes how could not have had to deal with the electronics or electrical problems? Most of those must have been before the C5. Wheel speed sensors are easy to diagnosis and fix.

If you have a DVOM it’s VERY easy to diagnose a wiring issue...disconnect the harness connector closet to the hub and measure the voltage across the 2 wires that go to the EBCM...key must be ON !!...there is a bias voltage (5 volts) on the signal wire and the other wire is a “low reference”...basically a ground...if you read 5 volts across both wires with your DVOM your signal and low reference wiring is FINE !!
