Security lite fix
I have a security lite on on my 2001 Corvette I replaced the key now I'm trying to remove switch to clean it and I'm trying to figure out how to remove the round cable that plugs into the switch.

Can't help with the cable, but at the front of the switch is the part that reads the resistance pellet in the key, it has a couple of small gauge wires, that is the part you may have to replace, also check those wires. Hope this helps. That is the reason your security light is on, because the key pellet resistance is not being read by the BCM.
