Air Pump for '98
BZrebuilders.com
I ended up having Erik & Cirillo @ BZ rebuilders check air pump.Definitely was not working due to carbon debris & wear x 25 yrs They rebuilt it in 2 hrs, guarantee 1 yr.warranty- Cost $250
,It works like a charm after re-installing it on a cold start.

PO 410 returned, so over weekend I pulled intake manifold and changed out 2nd air valve. Definitely not able to blow it through it. I drove it once and PO410 code returned, stated possibly a relay issue or solenoid issue. The previous mechanic said he checked the solenoid & vacuum under the passenger front wheel guard area, but I am a little suspect.
Any ideas how to proceed next after checking changing #33 and Max fuse in position #50 in fuse box under hood. Thanks for any suggestions- I plan to take it back to a Smog repair shop next, since it failed smog testing at that time due to air pump faulty recognition. It passed the emissions part of the test.

Re-check after the repair. Thanks for your inquiry since this Air pump is no longer manufactured. The State DMV referred referred me to a guy in Sacramento that wanted $350 plus shipping for a used one, with no guarantee.
I doubt this would pass Smog Inspection in California, since there are 2 components necessary to pass on the electronic Smog Testing. The first is clearance of CO2vemissions below the state accepted levels. My car initially passed this even with a defective Smog pump.
The second component, checking directly the Smog pump function initially failed until the pump was repaired, since the Smog Test Center is able to detect if the codes demonstrate the Smog pump is malfunctioning with startup or fails to respond. If it fails to pass, the owner has to contact a DMV referree to determine a solution ,which usually will be costly.
So, I would try to repair it first after the first Smog Test failure to avoid the DMV referree decision. The BZ site can fix it if you call them & ship it to them .Talk with Eric, the owner, who has been in business there over 40 years.I wish you good luck.
