I had the Indys on before with heads/cam and it was too tame for me, so I went Loudmouths  I'm removing the cats from my car and was wondering which system will better suit me now. I hate resonance as it is the only reason I wont keep the Slps :cry I just dont want to fall asleep driving the car either
The Corsa Touring Exhaust catback is even more tame than the Indys. If you want a more robust sound the Indy's will suit your purposes better since you added cam and heads they will be louder than before.
I have the Indy's and love them, but a buddy with H/C headers, gutted cat's married up to the Touring's and his car sounds wicked bad. A whole new level of great small block Chevy sound. I love his sound. But that's a bit extreme. His car with cat's still sounded slightly better than Indy's on a stock car though. Guess 500+ HP will do that.

Note I had the corsa indys with heads/cam and they were too tame for me  Now I get a headache from the slps from the resonance. I guess I will go the touring route since I need some peace and quiet
The Indys on my car after heads/cam/headers/highflow cats sounded absolutely RAW! But it's just a bit too "obnoxiously loud" for the "yuppie" comunity that I live in though  (commented by neighbor.)
So while she's at Mike Norris' for a rebuild, I've opted for the Tourings. Hope that'll quiet it down a bit.

 If you think that is raw try some loudmouths on there  I set off alarms going down my block, not even at wot  I'm gonna miss that :(
The cats do most of the muffling and if you remove them, your car will be louder with stock exhaust than any other car with catbacks and cats. I have run just about every exhaust configuration (no cats, straight pipes, straight mufflers, cat back..stock on and on.etc........) The cats do the muffling, the 180 degree mufflers take out the resonance..thats why they were chosen..copied from Porsche.
If you thought the Indys with heads/cam was tame you might want to go for the Borla XR-1 exhaust. I have the Tourings as does the g/f and we love the sound, but we aren't looking for the loudest car on the street too.
<EDIT> No personal experience with gutted cats so if you wnt to reduce ressonance and a more refined sound you can try the Tourings. </EDIT>
Hey Shinobi are you running the indys with cats or none now? How does it sound? Any resonance. I still want loud, just dont want the resonance  To me loud = fast
Anyone else have indys without cats? How is it? Thanx guys, I'm almost there I think
I sold the Indy's, they were perfect with stock exhaust, but when I bought the Indy's they were for my modified coupe that had straight pipes. When I bought the Z I put the Indy's on and loved them,,but I knew I was going to install some LT headers, and put in an off road X pipe..so now it is loud but has no resonance between 1500-2300 rpms...I get a little (and I mean a little) around 2400-2600 but I rarely am driving around at that rpm..but I tried out all the rpms in first through third, and low rpms in 4, 5, and 6 just to check for resonance...4th and 5th gear at 2400-2600 is the only time I have heard the hint of resonance..my thoughts are if I have to try and listen that hard then it isn't a problem.
Hey Mike, I have the Tourings on my '98 and with the CATS removed makes for an awesome sound. When you drove it last, it was before heads/cam and a few other pieces. But knowing you, I think you'll want even more sound. Indy's probably a better bet for you.
