Battery Issue

2000 C5, 78,000 miles...After about a 3 hour drive, stopped for fuel. When tried to re crank, it clicked about twice before firing up. When I got home and tried it several hours later, nothing worked. Put the charger on and full charge in less than 10 minutes. Battery is less than a year old and driving yesterday, volt meter gauge and digital all showed charging at 13.8 -14.2. Ideas appreciated.

Probably not the battery, could be your starter, but to make sure have your battery load tested at a auto parts store, and rule out the battery as your problem.

Make sure the battery cables are tight. You should not be able to turn them on the post by hand.

If those connections are not perfect, all kinds of problems result. Try unscrewing the terminal screws, scraping/sanding to make sure there is no corrosion, smearing everything with Vaseline and re-assembling.
