When I open the door—-
When I open the door the cabin lights come on as they should except the instrument cluster and DIC buttons - I should also mention that the instrument cluster daylight background doesn’t work either. So where do I go from here?

Well the lights works fine when the headlights are turned on - so no issues there - but there’s a photo cell that controls the instrument cluster lights brightness during the daytime - it’s above the fuel button - I called Batee.Com and picked their brains since they have the photo cell kits to repair C4 Instrument cluster issues (I had a ‘94) they couldn’t help me other than assuming that their kits should work on a C5 - they just don’t know how to go about correcting the problem. I tested the photo cell by covering it up with my finger and the “MPG” got darker so something is going on - I just don’t know what - electronics is a weakness of mine. So we’ll just have to live with it until one of our C5 brothers find a cure lol.
BTW I have a hunch the photo cell controls the “black lights” for the daytime brightness.
