Check your battery. Also, moving to C5 Tech.

Yes, the battery is a common cause for those general symptoms. Make sure it load tests good, is close to 12.6 volts before reinstalling and terminals are CLEAN and tight. Some side terminal batteries were produced with slightly shallow holes for the attaching cable bolt and even when tight don't make good contact . Factory Service Manual torque for my 2001 battery side terminals is 11 foot pounds. You can't get a torque wrench in there, so good and tight.

Give more detail on the symptoms- when turning key on? After startup? Cranking before start? Driving? When, exactly do the symptoms appear?

Post back what you find.

Often when starting her, the anti-skid and anti-lock brake lights come on but,
after a couple starts they go off. Yesterday when leaving all lights were on, the
AC compressor (no cold air) was not working, the windows did not work, all gauges did not work but the cruise worked and the radio stopped after a short time. Car started and ran fine even when the information center said reduced power. I will have the new red top battery checked today. I stopped at Luck Chevrolet and they wanted &129 just to look at it, highway robbery. Any help will be appreciated.

Take a check into this post .

Your ignition switch is maybe causing your problem due to internal voltage drop causing too low voltage to the electronics feeded by the ignition switch

Yes, with those symptoms it does sound like the ignition switch. In the link given above by oelarse, Bill Curlee explains.

I have had to replace two ignition switches because of symptoms similar to those your car is experiencing. A clue is that often but not always a shut down by turning the key off and then restarting results in different, or no symptoms upon restart. Symptoms get worse as the ignition switch contacts continue to deteriorate. Systems powered through the switch like AC drop out, may come back briefly.

You can clean the switch contacts and bend the little flat springs for better contact. Or buy a new one, install the new one and rebuild the old one for a spare.
