My 97 message showed SERVICE VEHICLE SOON. My chevy dealer said it was a steering position sensor..
The tech said it was a part no longer produced by GM. The part #26055808. is what I need help locating. I would
appreciate any help or advice on where to look.
Because they are used, you might install it and find the steering angle is off so the code remains. Remove the steering column and adjust the angle if you have a Tech2 and knew how much the angle was off... if it still isn’t right, remove the column again and try another time, etc.
So the sensor is expensive and you could potentially pay big labor pulling the column more than once.

You may want to check "FleBay" auction site, Just search >>> "1997 Corvette Steering Sensor 26055808"<<<<they are available but pricy...
Thanks for your input guys. Looks like I will have to bite the bullet. I was going to sell the car but I told the potential
buyer about the problem and I think it killed the sale.
