Losing lights in the rain
Today, hit rain again and turned on the fog lights and all lit up. Got out of that rain storm and turned all off. Next storm when turning on fog lamp switch, no dash board or fog light. Hmmmmmm. Turn headlights on and they came up and as before, would not close.
So tomorrow , into the books to follow the circuit and see where water may be shorting something out to cause the fuse to go.
If anyone has had this happen to them, please post what they found and save me a lot of time chasing diagrams in the repair manuals.
So attacked the back again being as everything in the front works cept the fog lights and head light doors. So, just doesn't seem like the problem would be there. The back has to be the culprit. But thought I had disconnect that and it still blew the fuse.
This morning , with a fresh attitude after my mile walk to contemplate, get blood flowing and see who they added to the graveyard. LOL.
Get home and off comes the tail lights, the side lights. I had brake and signal lights but no tail lights or side marker lights. So,
Pulled all the sockets out and bulbs out of the sockets. All dry. All washed down with CRC22 electro cleaner and blow dry. Test all bulbs with ohm meter, good at around 3.4 ohms . A fine coat of dilectric grease on all, Plug all in and all lite up and stayed that was. Put all back together and took a 10 mile ride.
But, you can bet I'm gonna avoid hard rain showers locally if possible from now on.
