Did I get Lucky???

Hey guys...stupid me. :cuss Was doing some "spirited" driving on the highway missed my 4th gear shift. Went into 2nd instead and over revved the car. The car jerked hard and I could see the needle at over 7000 rpms. I quickly popped it into neutral and coasted out for about 15 seconds. No check engine light, no strange noises, no smoke out the back. Ran the car a few more times and everything seems right. Questions are:

1. Any codes I should look for?
2. Any other common symptoms?
3. Any other comments?

Sounds like you were very lucky. The most common damage is probably bent push rod(s). I don't know how you would check them with out pulling them. LOL :cheers:

Well, the consensus seems to be that I am one lucky b@#*!#d! :D It still worries me though. Wish I could know for sure if anything was wrong (besides pulling rods, etc...)

A friend did the same thing with a Z06, he said he saw 7,200 and he has no issues with the car right now...

I'd say he got lucky. And you too!

You could also look for the 2345 code: which means "hey, are you trying to kill me?" :lol:
