I retired from the airlines several years ago to take care of my sick wife , breast cancer came back after 24 years, and took her away this time , I had a aircraft in my garage that i had picked up from a man that started building it and lost interest.
so when she passed away i finished it and did the normal 25 hrs flying that the FAA required and sold it after that to a man in Canada
since then i have had several motorcycles , airplanes and cars being my last one was a 1979 Z 28 reason i sold it i have rental homes and they aren't paying the rent , shortly after selling one renter who has still been paying me ask to buy my home . So i was on the look out for something new and i picked up a 1999 Corvette with 32 K miles car looks like it just came off the lot , Owner said before i ask he had just replaced the AC compressor shift cable and fixed the problem with the gas tank leaking when full replacing filter and pump , at this time i have sold both aircraft mostly due to it being too lonely flying without my co-pilot , i would very much appriciate any info anyone can give me what else i need to watch out for Thanks Guy

That is quite a story, and I am very sorry about your loss.

As for the C5, I would advise you read the “stickies” which are threads at the top of each section under C5. There is a ton of information in those threads and a great place to start learning about your car.

The C5 is an awesome platform, and has a track record of being a very solid performer, though does have some occasional annoyances. I have had many C5’s and currently have an 04 Z06 that I love.

With regular maintenance and upkeep, your C5 will serve you well for a long time. I didn’t read if it was an auto or a manual, but you might consider a fluid change in all the viral areas, and use a good synthetic fluid like Amsoil.

There is so much help and information on this forum, it has saved me so much time and money, and well also cost me money adding performance and visual appeal! Lol

Most importantly, when you see another Corvette on the road, be sure to wave!
