Seems my Ls1 is giving up it runs but sounds like stone crush piston slap issue.
So what options do i have is the LS1 block something that can be rebuilt ?
Have looked at the LS364/450 GM performance longblock and i like it but it seems it is on backorder every where, is this a good option ?
Also looked into the shortblock ATK and Blueprint 6.0 LQ9 options with various setups that makes it possible to just move all top end and bat pan to new block , but then when you add it all up it will almost be same money as the LS364 option that is a new engine.
I am aiming for 550-600 hp and that includes the A&A V3si kit that i have purchased a year ago, so my best options would be with all this in mind ?
Car is a M6 -02 convertible.
Do an iron block build and call it a day in my opinion. Spring for ARP studs on the crank and for the heads and turn up the boost!
Yes a restored 6.0L short block with some goodies is like 3000 USD and i could move over all parts from the LS1.
The LS364 have nice heads but internal parts is not that good compared to ATK or Blueprint engines type of shortblocks.
