Default New Bilstein Shocks

Just installed new Bilstein Sport shocks in my 99 Hardtop. Present tires are Pilot Sport A/S non runflats. Like the shocks but they do seem a little rough. Car is more stable, but I do pick up every little road imperfection and it can be annoying. Lot of jiggling and more suspension thump than before. Car is at standard ride height, has not been lowered. Is it possible that the Bilsteins may smooth out a little after a few miles. Also has anyone installed factory Z06 shocks on earlier model C-5s? If so, how do you like them?

I installed the "Sports" on my car too - they are a slight bit rougher, but if you do any road racing, you will not believe how much better they are ...

  :smash: :seeya

Since I have have never had Bilstein Sport shocks I can not speak from that point of view. I do have standard Z06 shocks (see signature). The car is VERY stable. Road feel is superb. (picks up those annoying imperfections jiggling) Based on my experience with the Z06 shocks, I would not look to the Bilsteins smoothing out anytime soon. I do like the Z06 handling (shocks) and would hazard a guess that I would like the Bilsteins.

When I go to replace the current shocks, I am considering three options: 1. stock 2001 Z06 shocks. 2. stock z06 shocks with rear 2002 Z06 shocks 3. Bilstein Sports Incidently, the Bilstein Sports are cheaper in cost than the stock versions.

Love mine. It did improve the ride of my lowered car.

I had the same experience with the Bilstein Sport shocks.
I changed to HAL adjustables.
The HALs are not perfect, but I now have a choice of how firm a ride I want.
I soften them for drag racing, firm them up for autocross and some were in between for daily driving.
