Unchrome?
Can you unchrome a wheel? I was interested in getting the Y2K repo's in 10.5" from Xtreme but they only are available in chrome. Chrome makes me nervous, don't want them to peal. I would like to polish and clear coat them unless you guys haven't had any problems with the chrome holding up.

Yes, you can unchrome, but...
Chrome will likely hold up better than a clear coat over polish. A bad chrome job can peel, but this is typically the exception, not the norm. A poorly prepped polish won't hold a clearcoat either.
It's the same wheel underneath, buy the chromies, they do look better... and if it peels, then go the beadblast/polish/clearcoat route.
