Installed LS6 intake while turkey was cooking!
............. and took her for a test drive before the turkey was done!
But I think you can forget that 1 hour stuff that was posted.
Maybe i am just slow..
This is without a doubt the most noticeable TQ--HP mod I have done!!
I had my son with me, 14 years old, and when I hit it 3,500 rpm he just
smiled. This thing is awesome. I already had throtle body,MAF, shorty
headers and all the usual stuff so this proably helped.
The intake IS louder but I like that!! Had a 64 GTO Tripower if you know
what I mean.
DON'T start this mod without a inch pound torque wrench!!!!!
Only diffacult part are the goodies on the rear of the intake, hard to get
to. One wire--easy, One big hose--diffacult, one very small hose-- very
very diffacult!!!!
Watch out for clearance on knock sensor wires!!!!
Got to go for another TEST Drive!!!!!!!

I was going to do mine myself. But my dealer installed it for free.. :D
I have a very cool mechanic..
Anyway I LOVE intake! I noticed the same.. Plus I have LS1-edit to tune for it..
Also I have a 14 year old who eggs me on every moment. It's so tough for a 40 year old to look cool in the eys of a 14 year old..But the C5 makes it very easy ;)
Especially When I took him on a ride to Autotap a few WOT runs.. :D

Glad to hear that the install worked out well for you! :) Sometimes the Mod installs are a time contest between members. I think being

Is the ls6 intake that much better than the factory intake manifold? If it is, sigh, I may have to put it on my wish list.

The LS6 intake made a huge difference on my car, not just a SOTP
difference. I would put it on my wish list. My car had a few other mods
that were proably enhanced by this mod. A little time consuming to put
on but the best mod I have done to date.
I got mine from SLP. Packed very well,good shipping time, good price.

Is there any type of fabrication to anything else under the hood when you installed the LS6 or was it just a simple bolt on installation??

In my humble opinion you will feel a greater performance gain with
the LS6 intake than you did with the Vortex. The Vortex will allow more
air in but it will be restricted by the LS1 intake. As I said before, this mod
produced the largest performance gain I have done yet and I have been around this long enough to tell the difference between SOTP and real gains.
Try it you will not be dissapointed!!

SLP has it for $399. I have seen an ad on the forum for 15% of SLP,
15% off 399 = a very good deal! check it out.
As far as 15 HP, rear wheel, yes I would say that is in the ball park,
much more noticeable than other HP claims. I feel this one is for real.
I have noticed a bigger performance gain with this than any other!!
