I can't guess about cost but I imagine the replacement part off a good junk car wouldn't be terrible. The labor will be much more than that.
As far as fixing it, no chance. Welding a cast aluminum part at a high stress location of a critical component that supports a critical component is a recipe for disaster.

Might take you a few days but you can replace the unit . The actual cost for a used front cradle might only be a few hundred but getting it in is time consuming sucks but can be fixed . Might take ya 2 -3 days solid going to town on it .

it takes about 3 hours to swap.... that's on your back with jackstands... you will need an alignment after you finish. you can do the "while you are in there" items... too. (engine mounts almost always need to be changed) the engine cradle should be around $250... I'm about to swap out mine for for a C6Z cradle.. (its magnesium and about 12lbs lighter) so I'll probably have mine for sale soon...

I purchased a used craddlle on ebay $190 shipped . Craddle installed with new motor mounts, camber bolt $550 and alignment $100.
