Am I right G102 and SP100 will provide the earth for the (passenger/RH) headlamp bulb? I'm fixing the C5 I inherited. This RH headlamp was working working fine. Since, I have successfully fixed all the front turn signals and markers as well as pop up headlamp operation but I seem to have lost the earth at the main connector for the headlamp bulbs and motor. Both beams (at RH side only just very dim). The power feeds test ok. First thing I did was double check G102 but I had already earthed it well.
I took 12v from the battery directly to the headlamp bulb and a wire from the earth pin at the headlamp/motor connector to the bulb but no earth came from it.
The pop up function of the headlamp door is however working ok, but might this be possible because of the whole metal headlight assembly being bolted to the body?
I have an earth point locations and functions list (I have been referring to in the past) but headlights (as far as lamp earth) isn't mentioned, just headlamp door assembly and headlamp door module (indeed G102)
I maybe just have a broken wire to the earth on the headlamp assembly connector but any advice appreciated!
I don’t have my C5 or my manuals with me at the moment,so I can’t help. Here in the U.S. we use the term ground instead of earth, maybe that will help. If I get over to my other place,I’ll try to get back with an answer. Good luck
Testing with a multimeter I was getting variable lower voltages than you’d want over the ground and feed at the connector. I sandwiched a wire into the connector (to add in a good ground- putting it to G102) and hey presto good headlamps.
It does look like I probably have got a broken ground wire giving a bad earth at the headlamp (and motor) connector.
Should the splice packs be opened to check how good connections are inside them?

I see you already got it. I read your message, but couldn't reply at that moment. Yes, it's G102 - Splice Pack SP100. I would suggest opening and cleaning it
Many thanks. I've cleaned all the grounds to chassis, but wasn't aware of a need to open the ground splice packs. Maybe there's a chance my bad ground lies in there.

That is a common problem area, check and clean the packs they are known to corrode and cause problems.
