I'm in the middle of tear-down for my drive train for rebuild. Finally got the torque tube removed from the front of the transmission but I can't drive out the pin to get the shift rod off of the shaft that goes into the transmission. The manual says to drive the little pin out but it really doesn't look like there's even a pin in there. This transmission has been worked on by a fly-by-night outfit before so...
I am thinking about attaching a slide hammer to the end of the shift rod coupler and attempting to hammer it off but I'm afraid I'll do damage to internal trans parts.
Anybody ever removed this pin and succussfully removed the shift shaft from the trans? Want to get this stuff onto a pallet and shipped to RPM Transmissions asap. http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/index.html
