I've had a slow PS leak since I bought this car a couple years ago. There's a pretty clear mess under the car below the power steering pump. I don't see any wetness until it gets about halfway down the hose going from the pump to the rack. Am I right to assume the hose itself is bad? I pulled off the corrugated hose shielding, but didn't see any signs of damage. I don't want to spend $50 on the hose just to find out the fluid just collects there since it's a natural low-point.
Edit: well I found a Gates hose for about $20, so figured at that price I'd give it a shot. I watched a couple videos that implied these tend to leak at the metal crimp connections, which is probably why the hose itself looked fine. I'm hoping it'll be a lot easier to get to since I have coilovers, and don't have the leaf spring in the way.
The high pressure hose a *itch to get off. I couldn’t do it. I took it to my dealer. The hose was bad as well as the steering rack. GM doesn’t make them any longer. You have to buy rebuilt.

Since I don't have a leaf, the underside of the pump sound be a cinch. I can get 2 arms and a tool up there no problem. The one on the rack looks potentially tricky though. I'm HOPING my rack is ok. That seems to be the only source of oil down there.
