Default ‘99 front mounted EBTCM grounds/wiring

Hi, within the next week I hope to do some checking in relation to ABS/Traction as well as test the car again. The car has been unused for a long time and although my EBTCM might be faulty it wasn’t prior to the car ceasing use so I won’t jump to any conclusions.

I’m getting C1242 motor ground circuit open as a current code. Slightly worryingly also a history code C1255 EBTCM internal malfunction was there too.

From recent reading it sounds like the pump should have its own electrical connector but my unit just seems to have one single large connector? What is the green looking part on the module that looks like a plastic vacuum hose?

My battery is disconnected at the moment and I want to finish a few other jobs before looking this. Last week I cleaned inside splice packs SP101/SP100. I’d already cleaned all grounds to frame.

I have also taken off and cleaned the ground bolted to the back of the module (see picture) but to be honest it looked ok as did G101/SP101 (drivers side) but SP100 (passenger side) was very corroded. However, I’m uncertain this passenger side one affects the EBTCM in any way?

I have also had the big connector on and off the EBTCM a few times. All looks ok and not corroded.

Any help welcome but I would mainly like to know about any further grounds and wiring to check out. Thanks

Here’s an example of reading about the pigtail connector but I looked specifically earlier and absolutely don’t see one!

............................Inspect for poor connections at the pump motor harness pigtail connector of the BPMV

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the EBCM.

locate the BPMV ground lug connection, making sure you have continuity to ground.. ... the BPMV, is the module bolted/connected to that ECBM[/QUOTE]
