Car started sliding (active handling) message came on! HELP
I have a 02 c5 z06 with 38k miles. Today on my way to work, I was stopped at a red light turning left. It turned green and I started turning left and I felt like my car was on ice! LITERALLY. The back end started sliding and then I seen the “Active Handling” message pop up on the dash. I wasn’t going fast at all I was going slow, I’m not sure If something on the road caused this? I go the same way every day and it never happened tho. But the rest of the way to work I was going super slow and it didn’t happen again. What do you guys think? Seems super dangerous I’m nervous to drive it again as this absolutely could cause an accident. Thanks guys

Sounds to me like there was something on the road and/or you need new rear tires. The AH did it’s job and pulled you out of the slide and alerted you to it. That’s what it’s designed to do. If it didn’t happen again on the rest of your drive, I’d go back and see what was on the road, and take it thru a few more turns to see if it does it again.
Also check to see if you have any stored codes in the DIC.
I second byte's thoughts. Turning makes the inner wheel spin faster and if there was just a bit of something on the ground or a slick area, I could definitely see TC light coming on. If going around other corners since has not activated it, I'd consider it just business as usual!
