Hi everyone....I've been working on my 1998 C5 convertible due to that troublesome Service Column lock issue. I bought and installed the LMC5 and it has been intermittent. It will work a couple of times and then pull key and service column lock comes up again. I've attempted all the tricks: disconnected the battery, pulled fuse 25, disconnected/reconnected BCM, and so on.
Currently these are my DTC codes:
TCS C1255: ECU Malfunction-Body Control Module (BCM)-Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
LDCM & RDCM U1064: Normal Software Function, History Status Upon Ignition Cycling-All Modules-Datalink Communications (this is the left door and right door control modules)
SCM U1255: Lost Communication with XXX-All Modules-Datalink Communications
Any help is extremely appreciated...it would be nice to be able to enjoy driving my baby again!
Did you do the brown wire installation found under the captioned Optional LMC5 Modification Procedure, otherwise known as the brown wire install? If no, I suggest doing so. If yes, suggest calling Richard at 855-565-8388. He will help you.
Ok, I installed the brown wire. No service column lock. However, I have gotten 'pull key' after letting it sit for 10-15mins, after which I no longer get 'pull key' upon restart. I'm a little less than confident, but fingers crossed. From the videos I've watched the 'pull key' should have been eliminated by installing the brown wire.
By the way, the dark green wire that is replaced by the brown wire was not in the connector, the slot was empty.
Went out for a drive last night, start and stopped it with no problems. Woke up early this morning, turned the key, and SERVICE COLUMN LOCK triggered!!!! (brown wire installed on LCM5) I can't seem to win with this issue. I'm about at the point where Im going to take it to the Chevy dealer, kicking and screaming along the way. And I"m still getting the following DTCs: TCS C1255, LDCM & RDCM U1064, and SCM U1255

I had the "pull key 10 second" message also. I sent two emails to him on using both of the addresses provided. I have not heard anything either and that was two months ago about with waiting 7-10 days between each one. I just gave up and live with the issue.
