Hello I’m wondering if anyone here can please tell me if the 2001 Z06 Mid pipe/H Pipe “jingles” like I’ve heard all the non pup cats 2002-2004 models do, I have a 2003 Z06 and I’m trying to go back to stock everything to preserve the factory function, and I’m thinking of running the Z (01-04) manifolds paired with the ‘01 h pipe just to see if there’s no added jingle too. If there is and someone confirms it, I’d really like if you could get like a recording or video of what that noise Even sounds like cause I’m curious, as always thank you and sorry for all the newbie questions, I just got this car a while ago and this is my first ever corvette.
You referring to the notorious, "motorboat gurgle"? As soon as the H is eliminated and replaced either with an X or straight set up, the "jingle" disappears.

yes and I understand that part but what I’m wondering is if even 2001 Z06 cars also got that same problem and if they do I’d like a video or audio clip of that sound because I can’t find any proof of this sound online, I have no idea what this even sounds like.
H Pipe, X Pipe, O pipe or Y pipe, Regardless, its NOT going to add any significant HP. The OEM H Pipe was a poor design only because of the quality that was used to make the hole in the pipes between the crossover. The early cars it was GOUGED out in a very rough hole about the size of a quarter or half dollar. No where close to the diameter of the actual pipe. The jagged hole sometimes cause a whistling sound that happened during each exhaust pulse which probably sounded like jingling keys. . GM offered some owners a replacement Midpipe that was suppose to be better than the poor quality early design.
That being said, If it were me, I would have someone weld in a good quality X pipe. This will effect the sound quality of any cat back exhaust more than any HP/TQ improvements. It will dissipate that distinguishable motor boat sound of the C5 OEM exhaust that most people do not like. If you or anyone can detect that jingle key noise, the X pipe should get rid of it.
So,, YES, the noise is real and GM even acknowledged it and had a solution for it. There was a picture on the forum long ago where someone cut the H pipe in half and the holes between the two pipes was UGLY and SMALL! Not what you would expect in a performance car. If you wanted to cut the pipe off one of the primary pipes and open the holes up, it would make a difference in pipe performance. (unwanted noise reduction and better motor boat noise reduction).
Hope this helps.

thanks it does help, but I’m curious what does that noise sound like EXACTLY - I can’t seem to find any videos on it. And would the fact that the 01s with the pup cats or whatever make them sound better or worse.

LOL!
Its a NIT, that some people can hear. Most don't even notice it.
In my honest opinion, Nothing to even be concerned with.

what’s an NIT? Also yes I figured that much, it must be quite impossible to hear that over this cars amazing V8 soundtrack and the road noise anyway. I used to have a 370z so I know road and tire noise lmao and it dosen’t bother me at all, in fact I could even argue this car is downright luxurious, I love the C5Z thus far.
