Im having major issue with the HVAC controls. The Aac works and blows hot or cold but it does not come trhu the vents corectly, i change out the driver side actuator, and still nothing.
I have the dash out right now and would like to know how I can test the system before i reinstall the dash. I took the actuators apart and they did not have the usual falure. and these parts are not easy to replace.
So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you able to change any air direction from the controls?

You will have seen the vacuum actuators if your dash pad is removed, the ones with an red/yellow vac hose and a blue/brown vacuum hose going to them. You should be able to watch things moving (engine running) with the dash removed.

I found my best friend was a vacuum tester to check pressures were ok in the small hoses, and what is coming in through the firewall inside the black vacuum line

(PS the actuators you're talking about sound like the electronic ones. Those don't direct air flow they just blend hot/cold)

Up date: After some more research about the. HVAC operation, I ended up removing the battery tray and proceeded to find the vacuum line that goes to the dash controls, who ever designed this had no intention for it to be found, Once I did locate the vacuum line, I made the repair and low and behold it fixed all the problems with the ac. There was never a need to replace the actuators.
For future reference before any one feels that they need to remove the dash ( thinking that the actuators are bad please first find and check the vacuum lines, no vacuum no ac working properly).
Thank God. for this forum there’s a life time of knowledge here, just be patient and keep looking you will find your answer.
