I'm newbie to the forum after having recently purchased a 2000 C5 at Corvettes at Carlisle. It's my second Vette.( I had a 79 many years go) This car had the typical C5 problems when I bought it but it was all dealt with in the negotiations. I replaced a headlight motor, the oil pressure gauge needs to be replaced ( haven't done that yet) and the belts and tensioners were all replaced. I also replaced all four sway bar end links and what a difference that made in the handling. I enjoy tinkering with these things so none of this is a problem. While driving it last week the turn signals stopped working briefly. So I checked the forum and found out about the hazard switch problem so I ordered the switch. I haven't put that in yet either. I was planning on putting LED lights in the tail lights and front turn signal lights in the near future and am aware of the hyperflash issue so I purchased the hyperflash bypass on Amazon. I thought I read somewhere that if I install the hyperflash bypass that will take care of the hazard switch problem. So my question is, is that true?. And also, if I install the hyperflash without having the LED bulbs in will that affect the the stock operation of the turn signals? Any help is greatly appreciated. This forum is the best. Thanks again.
Installing the hyperflash without led bulbs will not cause a problem. Yes the hyperflash will fix your turn signal not working if the cause was the hazard switch. The hazard switch is a 4 way switch that works the turn signals and hazard lights. The hyperflash will bypass the hazard switch to work the turn signals and the hazard switch will still work the hazard lights as it originally did. Also I have heard people having problems when they switch out all the exterior bulbs for led. Myself I have the 2 front turn signals and 2 marker lights in the rear led with a hyperflash and all is working well.
