The previous post made was to clarify the production change of the factory H-pipe. In no way shape or form is it stated or implied that the product is not adaptable to the vehicles. The fact of the matter is that with the design change made on the factory pipe, any perfomance exhaust will do this to a certain degree due to an increase in flow capability. Please keep in mind that sound is subjective, and there are many who prefer the factory h-pipe sound.
As far as a "potential" problem, I believe you were referred to a local tuner/dealer who is very familiar with our product. The judgement of their technicians first hand will be able to clarify any questions. If there is something aside from the stated above, CORSA will take the actions to remedy the situation.
If you don't like the sound...buy something else. I put a set of tourings on my car a couple of years ago. Although I liked the sound...it wasn't aggressive enough for my taste. I switched to Indy's about six months ago and love the sound. It's just a matter of taste. If you don't like what you have change it.
Additionally, you discribed the sound tha your exhaust was making as a "thrashing"sound. Is this a metallic rubbing or banging? If so, you may have an istallation problem???
:iagree: Same here Corsa Indys with Corsa X pipe sounds awesome at WOT and just right around town. Great sound and never had resonance with this set-up.
I have had the touring and then the indys....I laugh my butt off everytime I leave a toll plaza since the car sounds awesome....I am considering an xpipe...and was wondering if the pipe you sell is bolt on or weld/cutting is needed...also the placement (in place of h-pipe or by cats)????
To install the X-pipe, you need to cut the factory H-pipe out of the car. You make this cut behind the cats and behind the O2 sensor holes. Our new X-pipe then clamps onto the pipes from the behind the cats...Our x-pipe also has new flanges that will re-contect with the over-the-axle pipes. I call this a cut and bolt-on part. NO WELDING IS NEEDED.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
My over the axle pipes do not meet flush with ext pipes...I had to use 2 gaskets and still there is a gap.....what can be done? Is it possible to get new pipes under the warranty from Corsa? I bought it new in 00....The stock system bolts up flush...what happened?? It wasnt always like that....
The exhaust is clearly not rubbing anything nor is it vibrating. It appears to have broken in , or the motor has broken in, and not particularly pleasant at WOT.
I have made a reasonable offer to Corsa based on many, many contacts and hope they will work with me to resolve "any" and "all" issues. For the price of their system, I could have bought a Borla and X-pipe and installation. But as someone said above, I can always buy something else, and thats what I am planning on doing should this fail. I would prefer to keep my Corsa's !!!
Just get the "Magnaflow" X pipe and you'll be :) I don't have Corsa's but I drove with out the x pipe with my cat back for a couple month's before adding the x and IMO it made it sound soooo much better at all rpm's, plus Magnaflow's is proven to give a hp increase.
I put the Corsa Indys on without the X pipe but I couldn't stand the sound at idle.I put the X pipe on and it took care of the boat motor sound at idle. It also gave the system a more refined sound, no regrets here on adding the X pipe. :yesnod:
Skidmarc: Please contact me at 800.486.0999 ext 112. I will be glad to help you with your questions on the X-pipe and the Over-the-axle pipes.
To cut the stock pipes, most customers are using a chain type cutter to do this. You may even be able to rent this tool from a parts store.
Killerwheels: Please visit Ernie @ Breathless Performance. He can give you a total evaluation of your system. He sells our system along with many of our competitor products.
I've heard the Corsas and I, personally, don't like the sound either with or without an X-Pipe. The (non-corsa) system I have pops a lot on decel, but I like that.
I will report to Ernie for evaluation once you, Bob, and I come up with a plan that is acceptable. Wasting anymore precious time during the holiday season, while twiddling our thumbs won't cut it. Corsa step up to the plate and provide the customer service you keeping telling everyone you offer. Corsa gets one visit.....then its off to Stingers if you cannot or willnot help ! :nono:
