I changed my wheel to a C6 wheel, but I don't think thats what you are asking. Be very careful when you pull the wheel, the metal is VERY soft and you can damage the wheel making it impossible to remove.

If you are not able to pull the steering wheel using "j" hook style pullers you may need to drill and tap the steering wheel and pull it that way. That's what I ended up doing.
I tried using the J pullers and they quickly broke. I gave up and took it to a local Corvette shop and watched them do it after they laughed at me. A guy who was about 5'10" 160# said "Watch this and learn". He got in the car and removed the wheel nut. He then slid the seat all the way back and slid forward on the seat until he could put his feet flat on the firewall beside the pedals with knees slightly bent. Then he placed his hands at 9 and 3 and alternated a push one side pull the other side to "wiggle" the wheel a little. He used as much force as he could produce. As I was starting to laugh my butt off at his attempt the wheel popped off and he handed it to me grinning ear to ear. He said the cheap pot metal they use won't stand up to a puller, but will warp enough to give way.
Can't say it will work every time, but sure worked on my car.

Long time ago my mechanic mentor and good friend showed me this exact method and it worked every time. RIP Bob.
