Are their instructions on how to fix a leak with the rear main seal on 2000 c5 CORVETTE with an automatic transmission. Can't seem to them when I search the forum.

Thanks
Step 1 remove the entire powertrain by dropping the rear subframe and the transaxle (you'll have better luck finding a how to if you search how to do the clutch, and not how to do the rear main
Step 2 remove the TC and flexplate
Step 3 remove the rear cover containing the RMS
step 4 remove and replaced the RMS
Step 5 reinstall the rear cover using the special crank hub centering tool
step 6 put it all back how you found it.
Ezay Pesy. LOL Have fun. Only tip i have is keep all your tools in one container. I had multiple sockets of the same size on the floor because i keep losing them

How big is this job, and can I get it done in a day?
Are there any special tools required?
How high should I get the car off the ground?
What type of sealant do I put on the seal?
In order:
Its a significant job worse than pulling an engine from an old car but not as bad as rebuilding an engine or transmission. It can be done in a day but since you've never done it budget a whole weekend.
You need a couple jacks, 4 Jack stands and a trans jack. You need the crank hub centering tool for the rear cover to align the center of the RMS to the crank. Think its 50 bucks I need one myself.
I did the job on a half height 2 post lift and that was adequate. It can be done on jack stands but I'm glad I had a lift to use.
Do not use any sealants. Buy a new OEM RMS and a rear cover gasket while you're at it.
Are you considering any "while I'm in there" maintenance?
