B3577 Suspension Control select contact malfunction
Have a C5 vette with 255k+ miles, original engine, trany, oil pan, shocks etc. Every day driver. Started car this am and got error message, checked DIC codes 3577H - suspension control select contact switch malfunction. Code this be a fuse somewhere (if so which one) or if this a part replacement issue (if so which part)? I try to avoid the dealer at all costs, seems to have worked so far...any help would be appreciated.
This might help. Sounds like either there is a bad connection inside or outside or the switch broke. I have a Z06 so the switch isn't in my car to know, but you may be able to disconnect the switch and take it apart. If it looks spooky maybe you can fix it instead of buy a new one.
Try testing the circuit with a voltmeter and see what voltage comes out of it when the switch is in the various positions and report back before you buy parts.
Thank you. I went ahead and checked all the fuses in the engine fuse box possibly associated with the error, for the dampening system. One of the fuses had blown, so I went ahead and replaced. Error message disappeared (for the time being...) I do expect it will come back as I'm not aware of any work on any of these or related systems over the last 21 years. I'll hang on to the above, in the event it comes back.
