Default Question(s)

I have an '03 Z06. It's mostly a track car at this point. Many mods, lots of fun.

The rear differential is starting to wear out... It's tired. So, I'm looking at replacing the rear end. Does anyone have any experience with RPM differentials? As I said, I'm a road coarse guy, not a drag strip. I'm putting out about 450 hp measured at the tires. Henson mounts on the tranny and engine.

Looking at the Stage 2 differential from RPM. Also, what are your thoughts on going to a 4:10 ratio? I'm running the stock 3:41 now. I'm really curious about what others have found making this change.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts/experience with me!

Be well, enjoy the drive and stay safe!

I haven't done ANY HPDEs except drag racing. I've had 2 different 427 engines in my C5, and the only thing I've done to my rear end/pumpkin/whatever, a 3.42 out of a C5 Z06, is change the diff fluid. Maybe I've been lucky. Just curious why you think your rear end is tired? Not calling BS at all. Just curious. Maybe the clutch pack needs new plates, and maybe some bearing noise? I have 116,000 miles on mine, and its as good as new.......

The guy who diagnosed it said that it's making sounds consistent with excessive wear.

What I'm really curious about is changing the gear ratio to improve track performance.
