Carbon Fiber High Flow Power Duct...Installation Problem...Help!
Guys, bought a power duct for my '98 as in my topic title and its supposed to be for a 97-02 model. However, we all know the MAFS got bigger in '00? In any case, have managed to get it to fit on the MAFS using the front rubber coupling from the stock unit. However, the snout has some slits in it that extend, lengthwise, beyond the width of the rubber coupling which indicates I am either doing something wrong or it doesn't fit all years. While I can fill in the slot that is uncovered, it seems like a fix I shouldn't have to make. Was hoping others of you that have installed this unit can enlighten me as to what I may be doing wrong. All I got with the unit was the rubber power coupler for attaching to the TB. Appreciate the help and thanks.

Are you sure that you have the air bridge facing the correct way? It has been a few months since I installed mine, but I was thinking that the slits went the other way (toward the throttlebody)?
I can look when I get home, but I don't remember having a coupler between the MAF and the airbridge? I will check the posting again tonight to see if you have gotten any further.

Russ, tanks for the replies. Yes, it's on going in the right direction and I still have the problem. When I talked with the vendor he tells me they are universal. In any case, I have a carbon fiber repair kit which I will use to fill in the remaing "slit-gap" from the inside. Should work fine, it just seems that these may not be as universal as they claim...mine is a '98.

Thanks again guys for the assist. Perhaps I wasn't as clear as I could have been, but the slits are on the MAF side and they are the one's I am about to fill in. The TB side fit just fine. Appreciate your lending a hand.
