I was told sometime back that if the EBCM was not working, that you would be limited to 80mph. Is there any truth to that?
Not sure about a bad BCM, but if you have the magnetic ride, the F45/F55 suspension, if one of the ride height sensors at any of the 4 corners takes a dump, you'll get the message in the DIC.......

It is an 01Z06. I'm only concerned about the 80mph limit possibility. I'll find out for sure when I'm up again. I figured if it was so, someone here would know. I searched until I got tired of searching and found nothing. Plenty about the ABS though.
My EBCM has not worked for years and no 80 mph limit. 2002 MN6
Now, that's an answer that pertains to my post. Not what I wanted to hear, but on topic. .My reason for asking is that while logging a run from dead stop to what ever, (with a bad ebcm) I lost 20mph around 80mph. It looked like it was on a shift (A4). I have a new tranny that I haven't got to try out yet. I thought the tranny was slipping on a 2-3 and it was a low mileage RPM transmission.
What most people experience is the SWPS going out but the ABS still will still work. If the EBCM goes out the ABS will not work and the 80 mph cut off kicks in.

Now this makes me feel better. Except that I may have change out a perfectly good transmission.
As trying to say above, I was logging runs from 0 to whatever and at 80mph or so, I lost around 20mph before it picked back up. I was thinking the 4l60e started slipping during the 2-3 shift. I guess I was wrong. I did not know about the 80mph limit when the abs was not working; I still haven't seen anything in the manual that states that this is so. I'm just glad it was confirmed on here.
