Lots of TTS users are running around w/o support at the bell housing, no problem. If it were me I would probably lop off the tabs and have one less issue to deal with.

Hmmmm...

Could you not use a metal lined rubber grommet between the tabs and where they bolt in. It would isolate vibration damage and give you some room to "fudge" the exact alignment???

I really want a set of these..... :D

Are there any other Headers out there that dosen't have these problems with the C5? I"m going to get a set. I think I want stainless but not sure what brand. I want them them to go all the way back to the Corsa flanges. I want them to be a one time deal and last. :flag

RWJ383 - I'm reading your comments with much concern! I'm in the middle of the FLP install and everything is lining up! I feel like I hit the GD lottery! So my front brackets line up perfectly... you wouldn't use them?

How many miles since your install w/o bolting down the tabs? No problems?

Remember that FLP did a redesign based on the fitment issues. You apparently got the new version. Install them as FLP instructs. :yesnod:

I say use them if they line up nicely, get rid of them otherwise. Better than fiddling with a broken weld or torn collector. I would probably grumble about it if I bought a set and they didn't line up. :cry

CapeCodCoupe: All the stars must be aligned for your install! You're very fortunate to get the FLPs with the front hanger tabs lined up.

You can twist the stock plug wire at the coil to help "pull" the wire as far as possibly from the header.
I left the stock wires and Heat shields on..........2 weeks later of EDD, all is well.
I just checked the header bolts last night, nice and tight :yesnod:

Hi guys,
Here's what I'm installing with my FLP's. They should arrive this week and I'll compare them to the TAYLOR wire protectors that I bought first. But since the TAYLORs were >$56, they may go back, I'll let you know.

LS-1 KoolSox-3/4"x 8" (Gen-3).......07501 $37.35 (pkg of 8)

The sock provides an easily visible way to detect potential burn areas before they occur. The sock absorbs the burn instead of the wire so no misfire occurs. An adjustable ring allows the unique sock to be rotated enhancing it's longer life. Soft, very flexible, easy to handle and install. Adapts and stretches over irregular surfaces.
