Default oil change

I just changed oil and it now shows past the hole and up to the x on max. Do you think I could have issues?

How many quarts did you put in? And did you start it before you checked it? It takes 6.5 quarts to fill. Some guys have put 7 in with no worries.

I put in 6 quarts. But I just read an article that says you should riase the rear end 4 -6 inches to get all of the old oil out. I had it on race deck ramps so it was actually about 8 inches higher in front . I dont think I got all of the oil out

You’re fine. It takes 6.5 quarts and you only put in 6. Don’t forget when you start it, about a half quart is going to go into the filter too, providing you changed that too. By the way, I believe it should be level to get the oil out. I don’t think the dealer raises the back end. I usually put mine on race ramps and then raise the backend to level and let it drain for 15-20 minutes.

The dealer may, or may not raise the rear end, but that is the recommended procedure......

You could be correct. If a quart or two was left in the oil pan and you added six quarts, you could have seven to eight quarts in the system. The dipstick doesn't lie, if it reads high, then it is overfilled.

Thank you guys for your input. I drained about 1/2 quart out of the drain plug and then added just a little to reach the full hole. I may have 1/2 quart of old oil still in the engine but I think Im OK.
