Am replacing the PCV hose assembly on my 99, LS 1.....Wondering why I have oil in the intake and the pcv hoses.................John.
I had the same didn't do any harm to my 99
I believe blow by and getting sucked back through the TB and intake on it's back around again. Evacuating cracks case

This is what the pcv system does. It vents the pressure from the engine (along with the oil fumes) into the intake to be burned. Some people install catch cans to capture the oil before it enters the intake.
Have a cat catch can..has a bit of oil in it...More in the intake..?
You also need to empty the catch can a lot more often than I originally thought. My clear reservoir "bowl" only gets about 3/8" in it before it is at capacity. Meaning anything after that went into the intake. I always wondered why it never got any fuller. The bowl is a good 2-2-1/2" tall. Now I know, that when it's got about 1/4" in it, it's time to empty!!!
I actually might try un hooking my catch can and just running a oil breather filter on the oil cap like on the old school 350’s .....
I think that would be a good idea. I have taken my catch can off, and went old school motorcycle breather tubes. 1 on each valve cover, and 1 on the newer style valley cover. You would think you would have small puddles under the car when stopped. So far, that hasn't happened.......yet. But I don't run my engine up to redline very often. I like your idea as far as the high position. That's why I kept the valve covers vented. Heat rises, and the valve covers are about as high as you can go, except where you're going, which may be even better. Just curious, why filter anywhere if you're not drawing in any outside air? I've abandoned the pcv system completely. Are you still going to run the catch can? If yes, I can understand why you're going to filter.......
With all the boost and I kinda put on a big *** air filter the blower as well , I totally get the catch can isn’t or wouldn’t capture it all but venting a set of valves covers might do the trick I can somehow see that might work in this car not trying to hijack the thread but that’s a good idea besides just taking off the can . Deleted pcv hoses already with rubber-high heat caps on the ends . Will see I’ll rig up something or look for like 1/4 inch filter if people make um ...it will be different that’s for sure lol ...
As to why needs more vent it just needs more vent more custom parts just another little trinket to make peoples jaws drop wtf .......

The way mine is vented is through the oil cap and both valve covers. I have no problem with 26 boost. Just hoses run underneath the car.
