I recently purchased a 2001 z06 that did not have the clutch assist spring. When I first purchased the car, the cruise worked perfectly. I decided to add the spring in case my girlfriend wanted to drive the car. During the install, the clutch pedal hit into the switch pretty hard. I adjusted the switch correctly, but the cruise never worked after that. So far, this is what I have done to troubleshoot:
1. Remove and disassemble the switch, looking for any problems. I reassembled and checked with a multimeter, and it is working.
2. Checked the fuse. Not blown.
3. Checked the brake lights. All are operational.
4. Pulled up on the brake pedal whilst trying to engage cruise. Still not working.
5. Checked the PCM - no codes after hundreds of miles of driving.
I'm really at a loss. I don't think the switch is broken, as it works properly as checked by the multimeter. From my research, if the switch didn't work, I would have a code. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

@feeder82 Thanks for the suggestion. I ordered the VXDiag (Tech II Emulator) from Amazon for $110. I suspect the culprit may be the left multifunction switch (turn signal, lights, cruise) as I have read that was a problem for another forum member. While I could probably diagnose the problem with a multimeter and circuit tester, I feel the Tech II would be more definitive.
Problem solved. I used the VCX Nano Tech 2 emulator to diagnose the problem. Turns out it was the brake position switch. When I went to inspect the switch, I saw the problem was a purple wire connected to the switch was damaged. The previous owner must have cut or damaged that wire (probably during a stereo install) and butt-connected the wire back together. When I was installing the clutch assist spring, I must have hit into that wire and pulled one end out of the crimp. I wound up soldering a repair wire in (under the dash, that was fun...) and all is good. Cruise is working again.
I would very highly recommend getting some kind of tech 2 device if you own a Chevy. The one I got was $110, and it was money very well spent. Took minutes to diagnose the problem, and I was able to check my repair before the test drive.

I'm glad to see you resolved your problem. How do you like that emulator? Any issues using it? The price makes it an attractive option versus a Chinese hand-held Tech II replica.
@SledgeHammerRacing Yes, that is the one I got. There is a wifi/bluetooth version, but I saw a review on Youtube that said the wireless connections were iffy. I did have some problems updating the licenses. When you get the unit, it will update the firmware, which went smoothly. Then, you need to get a newer version of VX Manager to update the licenses. This just wouldn't work for me. Tried two laptops, and no dice. It wasn't until I set my VPN to China (using private internet access), that I was able to update. Once I did that, it worked with no problems. Note, you can update the firmware and licenses without connecting to the OBD2 port in the car - you can just connect to the computer with the usb cable. PM me if you have any other questions, or need the url for the updated VX Manager.

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
